Symptoms usually depends on the cause of pneumonia, however, cough, chest pain, fever or chills and difficulty breathing or shortness of breath are common symptoms of pneumonia. In bacterial pneumonia, symptoms can appear suddenly and are very difficult or may appear gradually. Symptoms include:
